It
wasn't quite Rick's bar in Casablanca at the Village Hall on 14th September -
no white piano or Humphrey Bogart for a start - but we were able to sit at our
tables sipping cocktails enjoying some very sophisticated music, courtesy of
Liz Simcock and her back-up duo of Dave Ellis and Boo Howard, playing a variety
of instruments in a variety of styles.
Many
villagers will remember Liz appearing at the hall on the same bill as The
Churchfitters. She has a sweet voice and great skill as a lyricist,
performing expertly, movingly, and often humourously, songs which speak of
incidents in her life, often coming from experiences in Norfolk and elsewhere
in East Anglia.
